Spring: As the saying goes, there is no substitute for hard work. There are many examples around us where success has been achieved through hard work and dedication. Bihar’s Kamal Kishore Mandal once again proved this to be true. Tilka Maji has joined the Post Graduate Department of Ambedkar’s Thought and Sociology at the University of Bihar, Bhopalpur as Assistant Professor.

A native of Bhopalpur, Kamal Mungar started his career as a night guard at RD and DG College. He joined the service in 2003 at the age of 23. He was sent to the Department of Ambedkar History and Sociology at Tilka Maji Bhopalpur University, where he was promoted to the rank of Pawan.

With permission from the university authorities, he resumed his studies. From there, in 2009, he did his Masters in Ambedkar’s Thought and Sociology. But Kamal did not want to go even after passing his MA, after three years of effort, the university authorities allowed him to pursue Ph.D. He started his PhD in 2013 and completed it after 4 years. Apart from this he cleared the NET exam conducted by UGC.

Golden opportunity comes to Kamal in 2020, Bihar State University Service Commission published notification for recruitment of staff in Tilka Maji Bhopalpur University. Kamal used to work as a peon in that university. He decided to sit for the exam. In the year 2022, as soon as the result of the exam comes out, it will be known that he has passed. He was appointed as Assistant Professor at Tilka Maji Bhopalpur University. In the department where he worked as a peon, Kamal got the opportunity to teach through his skill and hard work.

Kamal told The Times of India that his father still sells tea in a small roadside shop. Kamal said, “I never let poverty and family problems come in the way of my studies. After taking classes in the morning, I would work and study at night. His success story will inspire many. Stay safe Kamal.
